Happiness Is The Weekend

Last weekend was superb. I saw my lovely and talented friends Frank and Craig play some acoustic guitar. I walked around Mill Lake. I got coffee with friends. I played monopoly. I had a bonfire. And I met some new great friends too! It was just wonderful. How was your weekend? Filled with magic? I hope so!

p.s. sorry for the non-details. I'm just tired....

Follow Up

After I wrote that blog I took a trip to the doctors... turns out I have a pretty bad infection in my throat. Blah. He gave me some medicine and it's only been a night but I'm already feeling better. The miracle of meds.

Anyways, being in bed and home sick from work has given me a lot of time to do some bible study by myself. It's really been quite astounding. I read my bible quite a bit but I haven't had this much time to really think about what I'm reading in a long while... I suppose even being sick can be a blessing sometimes.

I've been mostly going over some of my favorite verses and passages and I thought I'd share this one because it always seems to touch my heart...

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (ESV)

Okay, I'm going to stop blathering on now... I hope you all had a wonderful day! Take care and don't forget to pray

The Plague

Being sick is the worst. I rarely get sick so when I do it results in myself morphing into some sort of mondo-wimpy little girl.

I got sick on Monday. That night I got a very high fever and an incredibly sore throat. I took Tuesday off work and by the time yesterday came I figured I was almost completely back to normal...

I was wrong.

Last night I woke up (at 3:30am) due to my throat being sore. It had gotten very dry and I felt like I had a flock of bee's hanging out in my neck. I knew it was too dry so I attempted to drink water... which resulted in tears. I got a glass and a half down... along with some Advil. I couldn't fall asleep again. It's 1 pm and my throat still hurts.

Do any of you have a good solution to a sore throat?

Right About Now...

I love being home alone. I turn the music very loud and dance and sing. I also bake. Whatever I want, whenever I want. I love to bake. Right now I'm baking a Hot Fudge Sundae Cake. I love it.

Yesterday I felt like I got invited to boys night and girls night.

You see, I am in the "let's watch bad movies together" club with my buddies Jordan and Adam. We spend about an hour arguing over a movie to rent and seem to end up getting the worst one in the shop. But yesterday my lovely friend Emily gave me a call and invited me to watch "Benny and Joon" (a group favorite) with some of my girls. It was a slight dilemma but I chose a movie that I love with my girls over a movie that I'd probably hate with my guys. It was the right choice.

I love the sun. It is so warm. I can wear flip-flops and no jacket! Isn't that exciting? It is.

Did you know that there is a Dragon Fort in Aldergrove? I didn't. I went there yesterday for the first time. It doesn't look like a castle on the outside and it is very clean inside.... not like in Abbotsford. It was quite the new experience.

That's about all I can think of to say. Oh! Have a great weekend. I'm glad it's here, aren't you?? Byebye.

Leslie Feist

I love Feist. She is great. Her new c.d. and her old c.d.'s... just gorgeous.

I'm sad I don't get to go to her concert tonight
